Hello everyone, It's a sad day. We had to euthanize Spitfire today, As I wipe my tears away I will tell you a little about him. He came to us with 3 other kittens at 4 weeks old. The first thing he did when we met was hiss at me along with his very vicious look. He was trying so hard to look frightening. It was hard not to laugh. It didn't take him long to love us. He was all black and grew from this tiny vicious baby into a sleek, shiny, beautiful cat.
He was only 2 years old. He was strictly a house cat, but yesterday he was struggling to walk or standup. He kept falling over, and I think he was scared, not understanding what was happing to him. He was shaking so badly. I put him in a really soft bed and put him in a pen to keep him confined so he wouldn't hurt himself. On top of that, he wouldn't eat or drink anything. His little tongue was hanging out. We got him to the vet today, Monday. The vet said It appeared that he had a neurological condition. He might have had it since birth, and it now decided to show itself. Nothing else we could do for him, especially since he wouldn't or couldn't eat.
He is now playing with the angels and other kitties that have passed. His little, lifeless body is buried in our cemetery. I will paint him a marker to put over his grave. . . but not today.
