Twinkie

  • 46.gif
August 2000 - June 3, 2008

Twinkie has regrettably moved on to a higher plain and we all still feel her presence in the office. We still catch those typos from her furry paws on the keyboard, and if you look real close you can see her tiny body draped over the monitor trying to see what we are doing as she keeps herself warm on top and then there's that vibrating purr that fills the room. Our Twinkie will never really be gone, everywhere we turn we see her and she fills our heart with so much love.

This little girl was found when a couple decided to tear apart a pile ready for burning. When sorting through it, to give the wood in it to a neighbor for his fireplace, they came across a newborn kitten. Not knowing what to do and not finding the mother cat, they called us. Twinkie had just been born! Maybe mom was new and didn't know what to do or maybe she left this kitten because she knew something was wrong. You see Twinkie only had one eye. She went everywhere with us as we bottle-fed her. She still went everywhere with us once she was grown. She loved to travel and in the Motor Home would spend her time sitting on "her cushion" on the dashboard and watch the world go by.

Twinkie suddenly got sick and was rushed to the vet. It seems that she had developed a tumor and it was wrapped around her intestines. We did not hesitate to say "do surgery and fix it". Vet said it wasn't possible so we had to euthanize her as she purred in my arms so she would not be in pain or suffer.

I will always love this little girl that was taken at such a young age from us. She is missed!
