Sterling came into our lives at about 5 weeks old. He was found as a stray kitten. He had the most beautiful personality and markings. All the adult cats took him in immediately. They played with him so very gently, let him snuggle into them for naps and kept him clean. He was the love of our lives but came with a very infected eye so off to the vet he went. Since he was so small, we tried meds first. But as he grew in the short 4 weeks we had him, his eye also grew and was coming out of the socket. Back to the vet for a simple eye removal surgery. Later in the day we received a called that he had died on the operating table. Even the vet was in tears. He opened him up to see what was wrong. This little guy had fluid in lungs, and heart problems too. In his short time with us he was loved by many and is still missed. He died in January 2013. He is buried in our memorial garden with a plaque and a piece of our heart. They all take a piece of our hearts with them when they go. GOD must give us big hearts. He is now in GOD's garden playing. We will all be together again someday. WE MISS YOU STERLING!
