Lucy-Lu was a stray cat roaming a neighborhood in town. No one would claim her as theirs. A kind person felt sorry for her and decided to feed her. Then the weather turned cold and she was provided a box and bedding for shelter. They already had an indoor cat and didn’t want another, but this poor cat had been coming around for a year now. They were now moving and afraid of what might become of this stray so they call the Humane Society. Since she was definitely older they wouldn’t take her. Next, they called us and we said to bring her over. That was January 8, 2020.
She would now, of course, go to the vet to be checked out, get her shots and was in need of a dental too. The vet thinks she is about 10 years old. In case you were wondering, this is where your donations go.
She was shy at first but adjusted to being a “cat room” cat easily. This means she gets to go outside during the day to play and bask in the sun if there is any. She comes inside in the early evening to treats and a warm bed with everyone else. I think she really appreciates being able to be inside where she is safe and warm She is an easy-going cat and gets along well with all the other cats. She has taken to sleeping on top of the freezer where it is extra warm, so I put a bed up there for her.
Lucy-Lu is a very gentle, sweet cat. I wonder how she ended up on her own. I hope we are able to make it up to her.
