Kevin was taken to a vet for euthanasia by his person. We answered the call and went to pick him up. He needed some dental work, his mouth was so sore he couldn’t eat and he needed some TLC. Kevin was a real trooper. He received a dental right away and that helped tremendously but didn’t last. He was a regular at the vet needing to go every 4 to 6 weeks for shots to keep the inflammation in his mouth under control. Kevin was such a lover. I think he knew we were trying to help him. Everyone loved this little guy. I loved kissing his little fuzzy face. His last night was a heartbreaker. I heard his cries from the cat room and found him lying paralyzed on the floor trying to drag himself around. He was scared and didn’t understand what was happening to him. Nothing would console him until I wrapped him in a blanket and held him. He settled down so I held him until morning when I could get him to the vet. The vet explained it as a thrombosis; a blood clot is thrown loose and causes paralysis. There was nothing more we could do for our beloved Kevin so I kissed his fuzzy face for the last time as I held him to be euthanized. Kevin was only 12 years old but is now pain-free and missed so much. I will see you again. With love always.
